20 Yard Dumpster Rental

The 20 yard is the middle of the range and the one most people end up with. It is big enough for a whole-house cleanout or a multi-room remodel, and it still sits on a normal suburban driveway without drama.

Three tons included, $449 for three days or $479 for seven, plus sales tax.

What fits

Around eight pickup loads. In practice: a full house cleared out, a kitchen and bathroom remodel running together, flooring pulled through most of a house, a large garage plus the yard, or a fence replacement with the old panels and posts.

It is also the size we send most often to new-build and finish-out work, where the debris is bulky rather than dense β€” packaging, offcuts, cardboard and cut lumber fill a container fast without ever troubling the weight limit.

When to size up or down from here

Take the 15 instead if the material is heavy β€” roofing, tile, plaster, anything dense β€” or if the driveway is genuinely tight. You will hit three tons in a 20 yard faster than you will fill it.

Take the 25 instead if you are clearing a large property, running a construction site, or dealing with furniture and bulky items in volume. Furniture is the clearest case: it is light and it eats space, so the biggest container is the cheapest way to move it.

When it is genuinely borderline, the honest advice is to take the larger one. A second haul costs a full delivery; the step up from a 20 to a 25 costs $80.

What it costs

$449 for three days, $479 for seven, covering delivery, pickup and disposal up to three tons with free delivery inside 20 miles.

Extras are the same across every size: $10 per additional day, $75 per ton over the included weight, and $2.50 per mile beyond the free 20, measured from the landfill off Highway 105 near Security. Saturday delivery carries an additional fee.

We do not take concrete, dirt, sod or fill in any container, at any size.

Common questions

What are the dimensions of a 20 yard dumpster?

Roughly 16 feet long by 8 feet wide, with walls a little over 5 feet. It fits a standard suburban driveway comfortably.

Is a 20 yard big enough for a whole-house cleanout?

For most houses, yes. If you are clearing an estate with decades of contents, or a lot of furniture, the 25 yard is the safer call β€” furniture is bulky rather than heavy and fills a container quickly.

How much weight is included in a 20 yard?

Three tons. Overage is $75 per ton, billed from the landfill scale ticket.

20 or 25 yard β€” how do I choose?

If it is bulky and light, go up. If it is dense and heavy, go down to a 15. The step from a 20 to a 25 is $80; a second haul is a whole new delivery, so when it is genuinely a coin toss, take the bigger one.

Can I keep it longer than seven days?

Yes. Extra days are $10 each. Call before your end date rather than after and we will extend it.
